Call for Submissions: Twilight

Not since Orson Scott Card’s heyday has a Mormon author met with such success as Stephanie Meyer, and not an article is published about her in a national magazine, but it mentions her Mormonism. How has the Twilight phenomenon influenced Mormon culture? How has it affected the way the world at large perceives Mormonism? How has Meyer’s writing been influenced by Mormonism?

Sunstone is seeking writing on the Twilight phenomenon as it relates to Mormonism for an upcoming issue. We are looking for all genres of writing: articles, personal essays, humor, and perhaps even some especially interesting fan (or non-fan) fiction.

Please send inquiries and submissions to stephen [at] sunstonemagazine [dot] com. Deadline for submissions is June 6, 2009.

Be careful about fan fiction–it may be considered a derivative work and could be an infringement of copyright. (And make sure you spell her name correctly. :) )

Can I nominate the author of the Normal Mormon Husbands blog? He has a hilarious occasional series on Twilight – listed on his sidebar, with a little editing would make a very funny addition to the issue. Perhaps he could be persuaded to contribute.

I adore Twilight! I can’t wait for Twilight Eclipse! I’m so in love with taylor, lol.
I still think that the first film was the best, but New Moon definitely wins in eye candy lol
