Ben Crowder went to five years of high school but never graduated or took the GED, although he does have a bachelor's degree from BYU in English Language (obtained quite legally). While he loves all the arts, his heart of hearts has belonged to literature since he was three, and his not-quite-palatial apartment is now overflowing with over a thousand books. (He is considering buying his roommate's contract so he can bring in more bookshelves.) His path to editorship includes a string of spelling bees as a youngster, a two-year stint editing the high school newspaper and literary magazine, a healthy dash of OCD, and a passion for the arts. After spending two years avoiding the canals in Bangkok as a missionary, he finished up his degree at BYU, worked in Special Collections there for a year polishing the sword of Laban and the Liahona, and now spends his forty hours a week as a web designer for the BYU library. He also writes and directs short plays with New Play Project. He founded Mormon Artist in the summer of 2008.
